Frances Rice

Frances H. Rice, 98, of Brevard, passed away on September 16, 2017 to join her beloved husband, Dr. Robert A. Rice. Frances also joins her parents, William Francis and Mary Pratt Hibberd; as well as her brother Leslie Hibberd, formerly of Rockland, Massachusetts.
Mrs. Rice helped her husband as a veterinary assistant in Cambridge, Ohio. She was a member of Eastern Stars, and was a talented as well as trained vocalist.
Dr. and Mrs. Rice made many moves over their nearly 50 years of marriage. Frances had a chance to sing as a soloist in the Methodist church each time. After 23 household moves, they retired in Raleigh, NC where Dr. Rice was the Federal Veterinarian in charge of the State of North Carolina. They then moved to Punta Gorda, Florida for 23 years.
In 2004 Mrs. Rice moved to Brevard, NC to be closer to her daughter and family. She owned her own home for several years before later residing in College Walk.
Mrs. Rice's loving survivors include her daughter Robin Aldy and her husband Aubrey (Sonny) of Brevard and also grandson Aubrey Aldy III and wife Crystal of Naples, FL and grandson Robert Aldy of Brevard. Mrs. Rice is also survived by her sister-in-law, Evelyn Hibberd of Prescott, AZ; her nieces Linda Larivee of Prescott, AZ and Laura Joy of Fredericksburg, VA. She also leaves her nephew, David Simpson of Pennsylvania.
