George Asbury "G.A. "Butler, Jr., 86, of Rosman, NC died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at his residence.



He was born in Transylvania County the son of the late George Asbury Butler, Sr. and Parilee Whitmire Butler Smith.



He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Melinda Galloway who died in 2002, two brothers; James and Samuel Butler and six sisters; Esther Powell, Ophelia Gantt, Ola Cantrell, Delphia Teague, Tilda Holcombe and Effie Jarrett.



His passion in life was gardening and the community will miss his generous offerings from his garden, especially his green beans.  He also enjoyed cutting wood for neighbors in need.



He is survived by three daughters; Madry Ann Galloway and husband Shorty of Brevard, NC, Helen Elaine Galloway and husband Bill of Frozen Creek, NC, Mary Melinda Toh and husband Soon of Flower Mound, TX., four grand children; Danny Ray Galloway, Tabatha Galloway, Billie Jean Myers, and Jason Wayne Galloway, nine great grand children, three great, great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews.



Funeral Services will be held at Rosman Church of God, 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 12, 2012 with Rev. Michael Pressley officiating.  Burial will follow at Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6pm until 8pm on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
