George King

Brevard-George P. King, 69, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2012 peacefully at home.

He was born in Glasgow, KY to the late Edgar Thomas King and Evelyn Stone King. He graduated in 1965 from Kentucky School of Mortuary Science. He began his work for A.F. Crow and Son Funeral Home in Glasgow, Ky., as a funeral director and embalmer. George moved to Transylvania County almost 25 years ago working as a funeral director and embalmer. He loved and served his community with a heart of compassion and was loved by all who knew him. This past year George was a part of the family at Moore Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where he was loyal in helping families in their time of need.

George is survived by his two sons Lucian and wife Mallory, of Pisgah Forest and Edgar King of Brevard, NC and two granddaughters, Arabella Eden King and Abigail Renee King.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at First Baptist Church of Brevard with Rev. Danny Hedgepath, Rev.Tommy Owen, Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-9PM Tuesday evening at the church. Burial will follow at Mack McCall cemetery immediately following the service.
