GH (Jim) Farley

Brevard- GH (Jim) Farley, 94, died on Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.

He was born in Lee County, KY to the late James S. and Mary Belle Venible Farley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Doris L. Farley; a daughter, Susan and many brothers and sisters.

Jim was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brevard, the Kiwanis Club in Brevard and many other civic and community organizations in the local area. He attended Berea College in Kentucky and graduated with a Masters Degree in Agriculture Science and Education from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC.

Surviving are his sons; Steve (Barbara) Farley of Sanford, NC and Mike (Cindy) Farley of Walland, TN; grandchildren, Jessica (Lynn) Waters of Maryville, TN and Jamie Farley of Walland, TN; great grandchild, Caroline Mae.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 11am at the First United Methodist Church in Brevard.
