Grace Gilbert Miller



Cedar Mountain - Grace Gilbert Miller, 100, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2009 at Cedar Mountain House. She was born on June 26, 1908 in N.Y. City to the late Dorothy E. and John C. Bonn.

Mrs. Miller lived a long and happy life on Long Island, N.Y., Clearwater, Fla., Palm Harbor, Fla., Hendersonville and Brevard, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wendell V. Gilbert in 1958 and her husband Ambrose A. Miller in 1997. Mrs. Miller is survived by her daughter, Gail G. Shuttleton of Brevard, grandson, Steven G. Shuttleton (Helen) and great granddaughters, Allison and Cynthia; granddaughter, Susan S. Skaats and great granddaughters, Victoria and Jennifer.

She is also survived by stepson, Donald A. Miller (Carole), four grandchildren: Kevin Miller (Sue), Gary Miller (Deanna), Pamela M. Kirby (Greg) and Rozanne Miller and thirteen great grandchildren: Samantha, Matthew, Timothy, Megan, Emily, Natalie, Evan, Andrew, David, Marah and Emma Miller and Marissa and Rebecca Kirby, all of Colorado.

Mrs. Miller was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Brevard, NC. Services will be announced at a later date. Services will also be held in Loveland, Colorado. To honor her memory, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care, 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
