Hazel Mcmahan

Hazel Frances McMahan, 95, of Brevard, passed away on February 3, 2016 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of Macon County, NC, she was the daughter of the late John Floyd and Zena Lowry Dills. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Auzel McMahan; her infant daughter JoAnn; and sisters Margie, Maxine, Gay, Nora and Helen.

She was a member of the VFW Post 439 Ladies Auxillary in Brevard. She was also a member of Grace Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children: Auzel "Wimpy" McMahan and wife Helen, Mary Sue Kellar and husband James, Eddie Lee McMahan and wife Joan, and Danny Ray McMahan and wife Frances, all of Brevard; brother John Dills of Arden; sisters Betty Sue Prebor of Marion, NC and Ellen Buch of Tampa, FL; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services for Hazel McMahan will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Hank Moffitt and Rev. Leo Bracken officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Brevard. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 AM, one hour prior to the service. At other times the family will gather at the home of Auzel McMahan at 96 Broadview Circle in Brevard.
