Helen L. Bardwell, 92, passed away on July 29, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.

She was born on December 31, 1917 to the late Herbert and Josephine Biddulph Limpert. Helen was also preceded in death by her husband, Ashby Bardwell; a son, Alan S. Bardwell; a sister, Shirley Bohn; and a brother, Roger Limpert.

Helen graduated from Dover Ridge High School and attended Akron University in Ohio. She and her husband moved to NC in 1970 where they ran the Cabin In The Pines in Pisgah Forest. Subsequently, she and her husband purchased Bass Lake where they built and rented homes. Following that, she worked in real estate, opened the Hobby Shop in Brevard, and taught decorative painting at Blue Ridge Community College.

She is survived by her two daughters; Sandra B. Celebrezze of Richfield, OH and Sylvia B. Warren and husband Steve of Brevard; one son, Ashby R. Bardwell of Reno, NV; two sisters, Doris Bish of Bay Village, OH, and Ruth Leach of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; grandchildren; Dominic Cugini, Wendy Bardwell, Karen Putnam, and Steve, Ray, and Roger Warren; great grandchildren, Haley Putnam, Dakota Shuler, Myriah, Keenan, Kaleb, and Kai Bardwell.

A memorial service will be held at Glady Branch Baptist Church on Sunday, August 8, 2010 at 4pm with the Rev. Lee Ray Greene officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Glady Branch Baptist Church Building Fund, 270 Rosman Hwy, Brevard, NC 28712.
