Hessie Chapman

Hessie Chapman, 90, of Brevard, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was born June 15, 1923 in Transylvania County to the late George Washington and Tilda Morgan Chappell. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Eleford Ola Chapman, infant son Michael Kent Chapman; brothers Robert, Fred, Jeff and Burlis Chappell, sisters Ethel Pressley and Ressie Aiken and son-in-law Romie Anderson.

Mrs. Chapman is survived by her five daughters, Rebecca Tilson and husband Tommy of Brevard, Loretta Hamilton and husband Joel of Pisgah Forest, Janice Anderson of Pickens, SC, Judy Rogers and husband Ronnie of Brevard, Priscilla Westbrook and husband Brent of Fountain Inn, SC; son Ola Roger Chapman and wife Kathy of Skyland, NC; grandchildren Brenna, Britney, Laura, Stephanie, Akella, Wesley, Erica, Jessica, and Christopher and great-grandchildren Jackson, Haley, Christian, Sydney, Nolan and Brian; and her brother Bruce Chappell.

Funeral services for Mrs. Chapman will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Pressley and Rev. Tommy Owen Officiating. Interment will follow at Old Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M., one hour prior to the service.
