Howard Jones

Lake Toxaway - Howard Jones, 76, of Lake Toxaway, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his home.
A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late James and Pearl Jones. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Zona West Jones.
Mr. Jones was a member of Faith Baptist Church where he had been a member since Dec. 6, 1966, serving in various capacities including Sunday school teacher and Chairman of the Board of Deacons.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Jones; daughter Sandra Cooper and husband Howard of Gastonia; sons, Frank Jones of Lake Toxaway and Tracy Jones and wife Amanda of Walhalla, SC; step-daughters, Brenda Whitaker and husband Greg of Fletcher, Linda Ensinger and husband Lowell of Jamestown, TN, and Wanda Greer of Penrose; sister, Geneva Thomas of Lake Toxaway; 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, October 10, 2009 in the Moore Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Vess McCall and Kyle Reese officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Quebec.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
