Ilene Ton Batista, 56, of Brevard, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016 at Mission Hospital in Asheville. A native of New Orleans, LA, Ilene, with her parents Jack and Margaret ton, moved to the Sherwood Forest community in 1972. She graduated from Brevard high school, class of 1977, and took pride in calling Brevard home. She later moved to Chapel Hill NC to raise her family.

Ilene had a free and caring spirit and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, gardening, listening to good music, and watching classic movies.

Ilene is survived by her daughters, Lindsey Dixon and husband Chad Dixon,of Mebane NC, and MaryLee Batista and fiancé, Michael Hatley of Pittsboro North Carolina, and grandchildren Cecily and Crosby Dixon. She was preceded in death by her mother, Margaret Ton, and grandparents, Robert and Ness McMeekan.

A Celebration of Ilene's life will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 2-4 PM at the Robin Hood Center, located in Sherwood Forest, Cedar Mountain, NC. Overflow parking will be at the Robin Hood Barn.
