Iris Lott

Iris L. Lott, 93, of Brevard, NC passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at The Oaks of Brevard. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, George Lott who passed away in 2006 and her son Jonathan who passed away in 1977.

She was born February 20, 1920 in Canada and grew up in the state of Washington. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 47 years.

Iris was a stay at home wife and mom most of her life. She loved her flower gardens, volunteering, and taking care of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She volunteered at the Transylvania Sharing House for over 20 years. Her favorite thing was spending time at Straus and Pisgah Forest Elementary School helping children learn to read.

Iris is survived by her daughter; Pricilla Rhodes and her husband Dickie who has been a loving caring friend and son-in-law, of Brevard, NC, her son; Robert Lott and wife Pam of Mills River, NC, eight grandchildren; Christopher Hendricks of Annapolis, MD, Jonathan Hendricks and wife Trina of Brevard, NC, Meredith Galloway and husband Josh of Lake Wylie, SC, Elliott and Huston Rhodes of Brevard, NC, Mary Rebecca Payne and husband Chris of Asheville, NC, Beth Schiano and husband Doug of Georgia; Emilie Kranz and husband Kerrie, of North, OK, 15 great-grandchildren; Nathan, Madaline, Glory and Lily Hendricks, Jon Hendricks, Gavin, Logan, Jamie Bingham, Bryce and Drew Galloway, Nathan and Kaitlyn Payne, Sarah and Abby Kranz and Caiden Schiano, one great-great-grandson; Calvin Payne, niece; Beverly Dunfee of San Diego, of California, nephews; John, Nick, Michael and niece; Ginny.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, September 9, 2013 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Andrew Nowak officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home of Iris's daughter, Priscilla.
