James Brennan

Brevard, North Carolina

James P. Brennan, 85, of Brevard, NC passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at The Oaks of Brevard. A native of New York, he was a son of the late John and Mary Murphy Brennan. He was also preceded in death by a brother; Michael Brennan.

Mr. Brennan moved with his wife to Pisgah Forest, NC in 1990, he attended Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Brevard. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Korean War. He participated in the Chinese Communist intervention in Korea. He retired as a medical technician after many years in Lyons Veterans Hospital in New Jersey.

He was a life member and active participant in the Marine Corps League, Blue Ridge Detachment 848, Hendersonville, NC.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dora P. "Miss Dee" Brennan; one son; Michael and wife Ginny Brennan of New York, one sister; Mary Ellen Cramer of Tampa, Fl.,
one brother; John and wife Rosemary Brennan of Smithtown, NY, a friend; John C. Humphrey's of Brevard and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Mr. Brennan will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Paul Smith officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Transylvania County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to Transylvania County Honor Guard, 22 Teal Court, Brevard, NC 28712.
