James Butterfield, Jr., 85, of Brevard, passed away on Friday, October 30,2015. A native of Upper Saddle River, NJ, he was the son of the late James and Mabel Scharf Butterfield, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Pfunder.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Clare McNamara Butterfield; their children: Susan Russo and husband Elliot of East Northport, Long Island, NY., Cynthia Jaworski and husband Donald of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and James Butterfield III and wife Kathleen of Bridgewater, NJ; grandchildren Christopher, Sarah, Shari, and Lauren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 5, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Shawn O'Neal officiating.
