James Collins

James Bradley Collins, 78, of Brevard, NC, passed away at his home in Brevard on Sunday July 7, 2013.

He was the son of the late Pinkney Collins and Della Gibson Collins. He was preceded in death by his sister Virgina West, nine brothers; Dan, Tom, George, Carroll, Emilse, Odell Collins and Porter and Archie Harris.

James was a self-employed logger of 35 years.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Frances Harris Collins, two daughters; Angela Lynn Collins of Brevard, NC, and Judy Collins Phillips and close friend Ricky Brown of Lake Toxaway, NC, two sons; James Micheal Collins and wife Rhonda of Denver, Colorado and Yancey Glenn Collins and wife Dana of Florida, one brother; John Collins and wife Mary Jane of Brevard, NC, two grandchildren; Dustin Scott Phillips and Devin Scott Phillips and his wife Amber of Edneyville, NC, two great grandchildren; Lori Nicole Phillips and Jeffrey Dylan Scott Phillips, and one nephew Junior West and wife Geneva of Etowah, NC and special friends Bruce Hogsed, Sue Gray, David Rethford, Jerry Masters and Micky Davis.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, July 10, 2013 at Crossroads Baptist Church, with Reverend Terry Whiteside officiating. Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Crossroads Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Harris Family Cemetery in Jackson County.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Brown, Scott Phillips, Dustin Phillips, Devin Phillips, Charles Collins, Jeremy McKague and Archie Harris, Jr.
