James Emory “Jimmy” McCall, 84, of Pisgah Forest, NC passed away on December 10, 2021. He was the son of the late Elbert Rickman and Elvie Hoxit McCall. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Alma Hoxit McCall, their two sons; Anthony James McCall and Michael Jimmy McCall; his sisters: Gladys Hayden, Lorene Cassidy, Artie Sorrells, Annie Ruth Hoxit, and Amy Sue Plemmons and his brothers Robert McCall, Alfred McCall, Brownie McCall and Rastus McCall.
Jimmy began Piney Mountain Sawmill in 1975 and was an avid NASCAR fan for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, had a quick wit and a sharp saw and drew fear from trees everywhere. But his greatest love was his family, his loving wife, who passed away before him, his six sons and all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren that he loved so much.
His survivors include four sons; Audie and Janet McCall of Pisgah Forest, NC, Joey and Angie McCall of Tampa, FL, David and Christy McCall of Penrose, NC and Clark McCall of Pisgah Forest, NC, one daughter-in-law, Allison Wilkie McCall; grandchildren: Lacee McCall, Tyler McCall and partner Eric Campbell, Matthew McCall, Kyle and wife Ashley McCall, Chris McCall, Rebecca and husband A.J. Sizemore, Joseph Ledford and John Ledford and Haley McCall, two great-grandsons; Silas Sizemore and Maximus McCall; his sister, Mary Jane Hoxit of East Flat Rock, NC and numerous nieces and nephews.
No services are planned at this time.
