James "Bert" McCall went home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 28th 2012 at his home following a brief illness.
He was a native of Transylvania County and retiree from the Ecusta Paper Corp.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonita McKinney McCall, his father and mother, Homer & Bessie McCall and his brother, Eck McCall.
Survivors include his son, Jim McCall and wife, Sheila of Brevard, N.C., two daughters, Deborah Adcock and husband, Pastor Stanley of Saluda, N.C., Faye Pressley and husband, Rodney of Fletcher, N.C., 8 grandchildren and their spouses, and 13 great grandchildren.
He loved music and was often seen at the Lake Toxaway Community Center dancing the twist. He loved when the family came together and enjoyed sitting around listening to them sing and play music. If you ever came to visit him, you would either find him out on the porch or down by the creek feeding his trout. We know this is not goodbye because in our hearts we can hear him say, "When you comin' up?"
We'll miss you, Pawpaw!
Funeral services were held on Saturday, September, 29th 2012 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home with Rev. Tommy Owen and Pastor Stanley Adcock officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Oak Grove Baptist Church c/o Laverne Moore, 230 Old Quebec Rd, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747 and the Lake Toxaway Baptist Church Cemetery, PO Box 482, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747.
