James David "JD" Shelton
Etowah - James David Shelton, 79, died Monday, September 05, 2011 at the Elizabeth House.

A native of Transylvania County, he was born on February 15, 1932 to the late Zollie Dexter and Edna Owen Shelton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Shelton, brothers; Grady, Ted and Leon; sisters, Mabel, June and Veda.

JD was a member of the Moose Lodge of Transylvania County.

Mr. Shelton is survived by his son, Jimmy Shelton and wife Cindy of Pisgah Forest; daughter, Sherry Shelton of Etowah; brother, Johnnie Shelton and wife Louise of Hayesville, NC; sisters, Madge York of Easley, SC, Faye Osteen of Brevard and Nell Norton of Lake Toxaway; grandchildren, Kimberly Corona, Robert and David Shelton; great grandchildren, Adrian Shelton, Gloria Corona and Carmen Lopez; special companion, Zack and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be on Sunday September 11, 2011 at 2pm at Mack McCall Cemetery in Lake Toxaway with the Rev. Tommy Owen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Elizabeth House, 581 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731
