James Stanley

James Lloyd Stanley, 66, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on March 28, 2017 while surrounded by his loving family. Jimmy was a native of Transylvania County, and was the son of the late D.C. "Dee" and Frances McKelvey Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Beth Barton and his sister-in-law, Winona Stanley.
Jimmy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was a 1970 graduate of Brevard High School and a proud veteran of the U.S. Army; a past employee of DuPont and the State of North Carolina; a lover of horses, and most importantly, one of the nicest, happiest people you would ever meet. Those that knew him had a friend for life.
Left to celebrate his life are his wife of 28 years, Kay Enloe Stanley; daughter Stephanie Ledford and husband Dwayne, sons Cory Stanley and wife Sylwia and Bradley Greene and wife Alicia; sisters Mary Baynard and husband Michael; brothers Mack, Johnny and wife Debbie, and Mark and wife Lisa; brother-in-law Jake Barton; grandchildren: Alyson and Grayson Blackwelder, Victor and Scarlett Stanley, Woody, Roscoe and Obidiah Greene, and Dylan and Faith Ledford; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Jimmy Stanley will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2017 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Transylvania County, 11 Gallimore Road, Brevard, NC 28712 or Friends For Life Forever Farm, 405 Reid Siding Road, Lake Toxaway, NC 28747.
