Jason Leander Gillespie, Jr.
Brevard - Jason Leander Gillespie, Jr., 86, died on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at The Oaks of Brevard.

A native of Transylvania County, he was a son of the late Jason Leander, Sr. and Annie Jordan Gillespie. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Alfred, Edward, and Hugh Gillespie and a sister, Lila Stafford.

Mr. Gillespie was a life long member of Cherryfield Baptist Church and also served his country in the Army in Germany during WWII.

He is survived by his brothers; Robert Gillespie of Brevard and Lester Gillespie (Shirley) of Rosman; sisters, Frances Waldrop of Brevard and Grace Leonard( Jack) of Burlington, NC; sister in law, Marilyn Ann Gillespie, many nieces and nephews; and many grand nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 at 2pm at Cherryfield Baptist Church with the Rev. Keith Thielke officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Moriah Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mount Moriah Calvert Cemetery, c/o Frank Summey, 240 Whitmire Rd, Brevard, NC 28712.
