John Gressler

John W. Gressler, 77, of Medina, Ohio passed away unexpectedly in Hendersonville, North Carolina on Thursday, December 2, 2021 while on winter vacation.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl, of 52 years, and his daughter, Kara (Todd) Branham of Brevard, North Carolina.  He is survived by his sister, Linda (Joe) Horvath of Amherst Township, niece, Julie (Mark) Vieta, of Blacklick, Ohio, sister-in-law, Tena (Jim) Stahlhut of Franklin, Indiana, Brad (Rachael) Stahlhut, Cincinnati, Ohio and Greg Stahlhut of Indianapolis, IN; brother-in-law Charles (Becky) Green, nieces Jennifer (Darren) Tucker and Carolyn (Michael) Fox, thirteen great-nieces and nephews.

John was born September 11, 1944 in Lorain, Ohio to Alex J. Gressler and Irene Warner Gressler.  He graduated from Marion L. Steele High School and New Mexico Highlands University.   John retired as Director of Health and Safety for Poly One Corporation, Avon Lake, Ohio in 2008 after 40 plus years of service and travelling the world in his corporate position.

He was an active member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church and enjoyed golfing with his friends at Weymouth and Fox Meadows.  He enjoyed bridge and socializing with life-long friends.  Coaching was his passion as a young father.  He remained an especially Clevelandavid Browns fan.

John was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Irene, and son, David.

Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 606 E. Washington Street, Medina, OH at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 8. 2022 with a Celebration of Life following at

11:00 a.m. Reverend Anthony Sejba will preside. Inurnment will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. Francis Xavier, 606 E. Washington St. Medina, Ohio 44256 or to your favorite charity in his name.
