John Fennemore Krause, 76, of Brevard, NC passed away Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his residence. A native of Phoenix, Airzona, he was the son of the late Martin Warren and Elizabeth Fennemore Krause. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his former wife, Rosemary Gillian Bates of London, England.
A Veteran of the U.S. Army, Mr. Krause was a graduate of the Army Finance School. He also received undergraduate degrees from the University of Colorado in Political Science and Business and received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He served as President of the Arizona Bighorn Sheep Society, Chief Gun Safety Instructor for the State of Arizona, was an Adjunct Professor of Real Estate at Community College in Phoenix, Arizona, and graduated from the VISION program for Transylvania County. He was a Lay Reader at St. Philip's Episcopal Church of Brevard and also served on the church vestry, finance committee and as Trustee of The Foundation of St. Philip's.
Mr. Krause is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Joanne Curry Krause; children Julia Anne Krause Wilson (Timothy) of Boulder, CO., Matthew John Krause of Phoenix, AZ., John Warren Krause (Emily) of Phoenix, AZ., Mark Ellsworth Gregg of Washington, Scott Pierce Curry (Meg) of Decatur, AL., James Hartley Gregg, Jr. (Lisa) of Placida, FL.; granddaughters Jenna Marie Wilson of Boulder, CO., Hannah Lindahl Curry, Grace Randall Curry and Gabrielle Curry, all of Decatur, AL.; sister Elizabeth Sherman (John) of Asheville, N.C. and brother Richard J. Krause (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ.; and two furry children, dogs Beau, Labradoodle, and Talullah Bankhead, Cavachon
A Memorial Service for Mr. Krause will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church in Brevard with Rev. William Livingston and Rev. Diane Livingston officiating.
