John L. Rhyne

Brevard - John L. Rhyne, 90, died on December 15, 2010 at Transylvania Regional Hospital.

He was a son of the late Robert E. and Margaretta Yoder Rhyne. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Wilson Foster: and two sisters; Rosemary Rhyne and Sarah Rhyne Finger.

Mr. Rhyne was a very active member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd and he also devoted his love and time to the American Legion, Elks Club, American Red Cross, Meals on Wheels, Sharing House, and Transylvania Regional Hospital Auxillary. He attended NC State and graduated from Ben Franklin Accounting School in Washington DC. Before his retirement, he was employleed for thirty years as an accountant at Ecusta (Olin) in Pisgah Forest, NC.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Eileen Richardson Rhyne; two daughters, Kay Foster Bradburn(Charles) of Huntsville, AL, and Betsy Nelson Bradley of Brevard; a brother, Robert Y. Rhyne (Mildred) of Durham, NC; two grandchildren; Kelly Jenks(Shane) of Grant, AL, and Charles(Chuck) Bradburn(Suzanne) of Athens, GA; two great grandchildren, Adam and Hannah Jenks; and a number of nieces and nephews.
