John S. Simms, Jr.

Pisgah Forest - John S. Simms "Jr.", 84, died Sunday, November 6, 2011 at the Elizabeth House surrounded by his loving family.

He was a son of the late John Shelton Simms and Nora Lee Teague Simms. He was also preceded in death by his wife Faye Sentelle Simms and a brother, David Lee.

Jr. was known by many for his years of service as a barber on Main Street in Brevard. He was a devoted husband, wonderful father, loving grandfather and a trusting friend. He will be missed by all who know him.

He is survived by his three sons and their wives; Dennis and Diann Simms of Yuma, AZ, Wayne and Beth Simms of Pisgah Forest, NC, Bryan and Ann Simms of Lake Toxaway, NC., one daughter; Lynnette and her husband Tom Griffith of England, four grandchildren; Chad Simms, Jenny Simms Mikesell, Nathan Hall and Bo Simms; 8 step grandchildren, one sister; Kate Golderer of Gaston, SC.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 12:00 pm at Cedar Mountain Baptist Church. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 579 S Allen Rd, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
