John Perry “Johnny” Fisher, 61, of Brevard, entered the glorious gates of Heaven to be with his Savior on Saturday, April 10, 2021. Born and raised in Brevard, he was the son of the late Clifford and Madgie Fisher. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Shirley Mitchell and Laura Anthony and his brother Allen Fisher.
Johnny enjoyed riding his Harley and enjoyed tinkering with things he could make with his hands, such as jewelry and woodworking. At one time he attended classes in cooking, woodworking and also Bible College, and was a straight-A student in them all. He loved his family and his animals. He had two Chihuahuas he loved dearly; they were his “babies”. He never met a stranger and no one could be around Johnny long without sharing a few good laughs. He was always happy, and his happiness was infectious. He was generous with his friends and family and was willing to give the shirt off his own back to help out those in need.
Johnny was passionate about his love for the Lord and the Word of God. He knew the Bible well and could quote scriptures and explain their meaning as he spent many years studying the Bible and getting closer to his Savior. He started several Bible study groups and ministered to many people.
He was so full of life and a beautiful soul as some have described, and the world certainly will not be the same without him. He will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him, but we are comforted in knowing he is now in his mansion in Heaven.
His loving survivors include his brothers Ray Hendrix of Indio, CA, Don Fisher of Brevard, Keith Fisher of Brevard, his sisters Martha Turner of Brevard and Linda Owen of Brevard; long-time girlfriend Tina Crawley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Johnny Fisher will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Lake Toxaway with Rev. Gary McCarter officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until 11:00 am, prior to the service.
