Joretta Whitmire, 73, of Rosman, NC passed away November 8, 2013 at her home in Rosman. She was born in Rosman, NC to the late James and Lola Lyday. She is preceded in death by two brothers, J.R. Lyday and Randall Lyday; and one sister, Wanda Clark.

Joretta retired from Ecusta after 331/2 years of employment. She was devoted to Penticostal Lighthouse Church and her family.

Joretta is survived by her husband J.C. Whitmire; one son, Brian Whitmire and his wife Amanda of Rosman, an adopted daughter, Patty Conley and her husband Jerome of Mills River; one sister, Shirley Green and her husband James L. of Rosman; and two grandsons Matthew and Randall Whitmire of Rosman.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Rosman Penticostal Lighthouse Church, 2110 Old Rosman Hwy. with Rev. Don Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church. A committal service will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory.
