Joseph Gillespie

Joseph Allen Gillespie, 18, of Travelers Rest passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015.
Born in Brevard NC, he was a son of Jimmy Gillespie and the late Mildred Ann Galloway Gillespie. Joseph was a 2015 graduate of Travelers Rest High School where he was a 4 year letterman at Pitcher & Shortstop for the Baseball team; he also played Basketball for Travelers Rest his Senior Year; Joseph had signed with the Erskine College Baseball Team and he was member of Clearview Baptist Church.
Surviving is his father Jimmy Gillespie and his step-mother Kathy; a brother, Robbie Gillespie; a sister, Charissa Gillespie; two step-sisters, Kimberly Sizemore & Mary Katherine Sizemore; his grandparents, Mary & C.E. Gillespie, Mildred & Ernest Galloway and Peggy & Buddy Wensell.
Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday at Clearview Baptist Church with burial to follow at 3:00 PM at Gillespie Evergreen Cemetery in Brevard, NC.
The family will receive friends from 10 AM until 11:45 AM on Wednesday at Clearview Baptist Church prior to the service.
The family will be at the home.
