Juanita Collum

Juanita Merritt Collum, 88, of Chesnee, South Carolina, formerly of Etowah, NC passed away at home on Thursday, August 4, 2022. Born in columbus County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Gertrude Parker Merritt. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers Robert and LaGrand Merritt and her sister, Janet Thut.

Juanita enjoyed spending her time doing crafty work inside, knitting, sewing, making quilts, blankets and doll clothes that she often displayed; and she  also enjoyed working outside in her yard, cultivating her flower bed and garden.

Her survivors include her children: Eugene Collum (Carolyn) and Wanda Baynard; grandchildren: Gene Collum (Jaime), Christy Griffin (David), Christopher Lee Lamm, Michael Lee Lamm and Isaac Nichols; great-grandson Ryan Skeens; and her sister Mearlene Crowell.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon, on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest, NC with Rev. Dan Dellinger officiating.
