Brevard - Juanita T. Martinez died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at The Oaks of Brevard.

Born June 12, 1928 in Manhattan, NYC, NY, where she spent her married life with her husband, Jose Martinez, until they retired to Miami Beach, FL. Upon his death in 2002, she visited Brevard frequently and in 2008 became a permanent resident in Brevard.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Melvina Taylor, a daughter, Elsie, and two sons; Joey and Manny.

Surviving are her children, Lucy and husband Angel Martinez of NJ, Raquel Vega of Puerto Rico, Juanita Eising of Hollywood, FL., Johnny and wife Isabelle of Brevard, NC, Carlos and wife Anna of Miramar, FL, Susie Atesino and husband Ray of North Miami Beach, FL, Pete Martinez of Hollywood, FL, and a host of relatives and friends. She was the proud grandmother of 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

Other than the joy of her faith, children and family, she delighted in her beautiful and difficult needle point, which she began in high school and continued until recently. She also maintained individual family photo albums for each of her children, to their delight.

A Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM, Friday, October 8, 2010 in the Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Father Carl DelGiudice officiating. Interment will follow at a later date in Hollywood, FL.

The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. M. Shane Foster, her compassionate and perceptive physician, Dr. Mark Isserman, The Heart man with A Heart, the nurses and staff at Bayado Nurses, the communities of St. Philips Episcopal Church and Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Brevard.
