Kenneth Landreth

Kenneth Eugene Landreth passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 8, 2015. Born on September 3, 1931, he recently celebrated his 84th birthday. A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, he was the son of the late Ralph and Deltha Landreth. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters Marie Guinn and Thelma Kitchen and his brother Gertha Landreth.
A U. S. Army Veteran, he worked for many years at Olin Mathison and then for the City of Brevard. He also served his church, working with different missions in Western North Carolina, east Tennessee and Kentucky. He loved his family and his "puddies" Pepper and Little Bit.
He is survived by his wife of ten years and sweetheart for 62 years, Frances Wright Landreth; his daughter Delthia Gilbert of Little River; his son Joey Landreth and wife Lynn of Rosman; 4 step-sons: Kevin, Keith, Roger and Larry McConnell and 1 step-daughter, Kim Stewart; brother Leroy Landreth and wife Susie of Brevard, and sister JoyceAnn Lovelace of Brevard; Grandsons Shawn and Tyler Gilbert of Little River and Steven Landreth of Rosman; Granddaughter Emilee Parizo and husband Tyler of Cary, NC; 9 step-granddaughters: October, Carrie, Paige, Kim, Mikayla, Serena, Victoria, Elizabeth and Katarina; 6 step-grandsons: Anthony, Richard, Jeremy, Chris, Tyler and Cody; 2 great-grandchildren: Ben and Lela Parizo, and 9 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Kenneth Landreth will be held at 2:00PM Thursday, November 12, 2015 at East Fork Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Tankersley officiating. Interment will be at Carr's Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at East Fork Baptist Church.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to WNC Rescue Mission, 639 Maple Street, Hendersonville, NC 28793.
