Larry Stiles

Larry Gale Stiles, 71, of Brevard, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Born in Cherokee County, he was the son of the late Hal Verlin Stiles and Beulah Lee Worley Stiles. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Madonna Chastain Stiles, his life partner Susan Carol Fisher, son Chad Larry Stiles and step-son Thomas Coke Bayne.

A United States Army Veteran during the Vietnam era, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal. He worked for DuPont for 37 years in finishing and the power house, but he truly loved being on the lake fishing as he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved working with wood, but his greatest joy was being "Papaw" to his grandchildren.

His loving survivors include his daughter, Sabrina Reed (Mark) of Asheville, and daughter-in-law Tina M. Bayne of Brevard; grandchildren Cortney Nichole Bayne and Connor Jacob Stiles Reed; his sister, Sandra Hamby (Dennis) of Murphy, NC and sister-in-law Reatha Mae Stiles and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service for Larry Stiles will be held at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Ron Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Transylvania County Honor Guard at P.O. Box 132, Brevard, NC 28712
