Lawrence "Larry" Surig



Brevard, NC - Lawrence "Larry" Surig, 82, of Brevard, NC passed away November 14, 2008 at his residence with his family at his side.



He was the son of the late Cecelia Ann Jenne Surig and the late Theodore Surig. He was also preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Theide and a brother Theodore Surig.



Mr. Surig was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in LaPorte, IN and also served his community as a Center Township Volunteer Fireman in LaPorte and held membership in the local Elks Lodge. He served in the US Navy during World War II in the South Pacific.



His wife of 51 years, Jean Randuk Surig is left to cherish his memory as well as his sons, Tom Surig of SC and Mark Surig of TX, a daughter, Nancy Surig of MD, three grandchildren, Jenna Surig of SC, Benjamin and Elizabeth Krause of MD and a niece Cecilia Kaczmarek.



A memorial service was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Monday, November 17, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Father Carl Del Giudice officiating.
