Lena B. Jackuboski, 87, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2013 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. She was born February 21, 1926 in Bristol, Connecticut. She worked as an inspector for General Motors.
Lena learned to sew at an early age and for the past several years, she quilted every day. She loved to volunteer, read and play bridge. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She was married to the love of her life for more than 54 years, Henry Jackuboski and after raising their family, they retired in Florida, and made many lifelong friends there. After retiring, they were world-wide tour coordinators with a travel agency and traveled frequently. Lena's family and friends were her passion. She spent the last 13 years of her life living with her daughter and son-in-law in Brevard, NC and loved her life there.
Lena is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jude and Flynn Trimnal of Brevard, NC, a daughter, Linda Veline and her family in Summerville, SC. Grandchildren; Rebecca Bullock, Kevin Gaylord, Amanda and Lauren Veline and several great-grandchildren, and her best friend, who was like a sister, Jane Webb.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Selica United Methodist Church in Brevard, with Pasto Ann Self officiating. A Memorial Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the family will have a private service in Titusville, Florida, both at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in her name to; The Bread of Life Soup Kitchen and Shelter, 248 S. Caldwell St., Brevard, NC 28712.
