Lena Mcguire

Pisgah Forest, NC



Lena McGuire, 71 of Pisgah Forest, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville.



A native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County, Lena was the daughter of the late Joseph Walter McGuire, Sr. and Lessie Owneby McGuire.  She is also preceded in death by siblings; Willoree McGuire Galvin, Joseph Walter McGuire, Jr., Edward Bruce McGuire, and William Evan McGuire.  Lena was retired from Transylvania Regional Hospital where she worked in the Home Health Department as secretary, a member of Boylston Baptist Church.  She loved sewing, baking and canning.



Lena is survived by three sisters, Aundria McGuire Ayers, Melba McGuire Enlow both of Pisgah Forest, and Emogene McGuire Macri of Springfield, VA; as well as many nieces and nephews.



The family extends their thanks and appreciation for the kind and loving care Lena was given by Transylvania Home Health, Mission Hospital and the John F Keever Solace Center.



A memorial service for family and close friends will be announced at a later date.
