Letha Cox

Letha Jewel Howard Cox, age 103, of Penrose, NC died Saturday, February 7, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Benton Miles Howard and Julia Edwards Howard of Olive Branch, NC. She was the wife of the late Reverend John Andrew Cox and together they founded Grace Baptist Church in Brevard. She was preceded in death by a daughter; Kay C. Hunter, four brothers and six sisters.
She was a long time member of Little River Baptist Church of Penrose, NC.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara C. O'Neal & husband A.V. of Marion, VA and
Gail C. Edmonds & husband Doug of Brevard, NC., four grandchildren, John A. Bishop & wife Anita of Waxhaw, NC, Julia C. Bishop of Oak Island, NC, Angie H. Byrd & husband David of Lincolnton, NC, Abby G. Bottoms & husband Stacy of Mt. Pleasant, NC., seven great-grandchildren, Andrew Bishop, Dory & Niles Paxton, Christian & Matthew Byrd and Blake Bottoms, one great-great-grandchild, True Paxton, two siblings, Lena Howard Stegall & family of Olive Branch, NC and Eltes Bradshaw & family of Grafton, VA.
Funeral Services for Letha Cox will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Farmer officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory (formerly Pisgah Gardens).
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesday, February 10, 2-015 at Moore Funeral Home.
