Linda Southerland

Linda Davis Southerland, 70, of Brevard, NC passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Monday May 20, 2013. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Charlotte Davis. Linda was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Davis.

Linda was a beautiful, elegant, and creative woman who was adored by anyone lucky enough to have known her. She was a loving mother and granny. One of her great passions was landscaping and her yard was her masterpiece. She spent countless hours perfecting it and many have included it in their garden tours. Her storytelling was notorious and she took great pleasure in making people laugh, or even better, embarrassing them or herself.

She was unrepeatable and had a magic that was all her own. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her longtime companion and best friend, Dudley Gillespie, sons David Brandon of Asheville, NC and Scott Brandon and wife Amy of Mooresville, NC; grandchildren Alec and Julie Brandon of Asheville and Gray and Sophia Brandon of Mooresville; and faithful feline friends Chloe and Charlie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at her residence from 1pm - 4pm on Saturday, May 25, 2013with Pastor Todd Alewine of Brevard Community Church holding a prayer at 2pm.
