Lloyd Mcjunkin

Lloyd Winfred McJunkin, 79, of Rosman, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 5, 2019. Born on February 1, 1940 in Pickens, SC, he was the son of the late Julius Ernest and Marry Ann Keith McJunkin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Flora Jean Powell McJunkin; son William “Scott” McJunkin; seven brothers: Bert, Claude, Edwin, Fulton, Paul Vernon and Weldon; and three sisters: Faye, Gladys and Louise.

After graduating from Pickens High School, he served out country in the U.S. Army. Later, he came to North Carolina to work. That is where he met his wife, made his home and raised his boys. He worked at the American Thread Plant then Dupont until his retirement.  A member of Middlefork Baptist Church, he served as a member of the choir, as a Sunday School Teacher and as a Deacon.

He is survived by his son, Daniel McJunkin; daughter-in-law Beverly McJunkin; grandchildrenBrenna, Chloe and Connor McJunkin and his sister Betty Ross.

Funeral Services for Mr. McJunkin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at Middlefork Baptist Church in Rosman with Rev. Chester Chappell officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m., one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Gardens of Memory in Pisgah Forest.  Military rites will be provided by the Transylvania County Honor Guard at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Baptist Children’s Home, a mission that Lloyd enjoyed taking food donation that were collected by his church to.
