Loenna Lyda Henderson

Loenna Aileen Henderson, 80, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2024. Born in Henderson County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Clyde henry and Edith Blackwell Lyda. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clay Radford Henderson, and her sister, Barbara Nicholson, and her best friend in the world, Ruth Whitmire.

She enjoyed crocheting and she was always ready to go on a trip. Her favorite places were Cade’s Cove and the beach. She enjoyed board games, and having a fun time in the life she had been blessed with. But her greatest joys were her family: singing to them, playing with them and having fun!

Her loving survivors include her seven children: Sheri Darnell (Stephen), Robin Stoll (Don), Tarence Henderson (Shirley), jerry Henderson (Mary), Dusty Henderson, Greg Henderson and Karen Wilson (Alex Merrill); 28 grandchildren and 40 great-grandchildren (with one on the way!); sisters Betty Self, Doris Davis and Maxine Lyda; and her brother Junior Lyda.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time for the service.
