Lois Brown

Lois Sentelle Brown, 92, of Pisgah Forest went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday November 9, 2011 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock, NC. She was born August 25, 1919 to the late Glover and Nellie Sentelle of Pisgah Forest. In addition to her parents, her four brothers, Harry, Joyce, William Ralph, and Elmer Frank Sentelle, also preceded her in death.
She is survived by the great love of her life for 65 years, her husband John Julian Brown. They met in the original Pisgah Forest Baptist Church and were married on September 7, 1946. Together, they taught their family what true love is.
She has four children: Jerry Brown (Kathy), Linda Brown Thomas, Donnie Brown (Sandra), and Sharon Brown. She has five grandchildren: Jennifer Brown, Pamela Brown Stuckey, Melissa Brown, Kimberly Brown, and Logan Brown. She has two great grandchildren: Jordan Stuckey and John Stuckey.
She is also survived by her sister in law Norma Sentelle, wife of the late Elmer Sentelle. Lois has always had a very special relationship with Don's wife, Sandra Bradley Brown. She loved Sandy like a daughter.
Lois graduated from Brevard High School and worked as an assistant supervisor at Ecusta in the Endless Belt Department until 1952. She then became a professional homemaker and lovingly raised her four children. She was a devoted wife, momma, mamaw and great mamaw. She is loved dearly.
Lois was an active member of Pisgah Forest Baptist Church her entire life. She worked as the Church Clerk for many years and was the pianist in her younger years. She participated in the Home Demonstration Club.
The family will receive friends at Pisgah Forest Baptist Church on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at 1:00pm with Service to follow at 2:00. The Reverends Bobby Owings and David Spray will be officiating. Interment to follow at Pisgah Gardens.
Pallbearers will include Jerry Brown, Don Brown, Logan Brown, Michael Sentelle, Frank Sentelle, Greg Sentelle, Randy Stuckey, and Tommy Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers will include Frazier Sentelle, Kline Sentelle and Charles Sentelle.
Memorials may be made to the 4 Seasons Elizabeth House in Flat Rock or to Pisgah Forest Baptist Church Missions programs, in lieu of flowers.
