Louis Duvall

Louis Daniel "Dan" Duval Jr.

Louis Daniel Duval Jr., of Brevard, NC died December 13. 2009 in Brevard,
NC.

A native of Charlotte, he was born on October 3, 1934 to the late
Louis Daniel Duval Sr. and Mabel Cherry Duval.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 48 years, Julia Harris
Duval.

Mr. Duval graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill,
Class of '56, AB.

His first career was as a hospital administrator, beginning at Aston Park
Hospital in Asheville. He was later invited to oversee the construction
of a new hospital, Lenoir Memorial, in Kinston, NC, and to lead the
hospital as its President and CEO.

After retiring from the hospital, he and Ms. Duval moved to Asheville,
where they started several successful business ventures.

He is survived by two sons, Louis Daniel Duval III and wife Chesca Fox of
Littleton, MA and Kevin Warriner Duval and wife Julie Daniel Duval of
Brevard, NC; and a grandson, Cullen Stuart Duval, also of Brevard.

A small memorial service and celebration of his life will be held on
January 9th at 1:00 pm at the English Chapel United Methodist Church in Pisgah
National Forest near Brevard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of
one's choice.
