Louise Hoxit

Louise L. Hoxit, 73, of Pisgah Forest, passed away on Friday, September 16, 2022. A Transylvania County native, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Dinah Galloway Lusk. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of over 40 years, Clifton Hoxit, Sr.; and their children twins Kimberly and Mitchell Hoxit and son Geoffrey Hoxit, and her brother, Weldon Lusk.

She loved to start her days with her morning cups of coffee, as she enjoyed the mountains and the simple mountain-life that she had always known. She loved to collect trinkets and various things, especially items brought to her by her favorite people in all the world: her children and grandchildren, as was evidenced on her walls.

Her loving survivors include her son, Clifton Hoxit, Jr.(Tammy), grandchildren: Danielle Nicks, Cameron Hoxit (Kristin), Steven Brody, Thomas Hoxit and Chandon Dodson; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters: Mae Hoxit (Robert), Dorothy Taylor, Barbara Jacobs and Jean Penland; brother: Francis Lusk; and many nieces and nephews that she loved like her own children.

A celebration of Louise's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 24, 2022 in the chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations.
