Lovella Merrill Heath, 97, passed away on May 5, 2012 at her residence.



A native and life long resident of Transylvania County, she was born on May 30, 1914 to the late James B. and Lillie Hall Merrill. She was the wife of the late Herbert (Hub) Heath. Also preceding her in death was an infant son, Charles Wayne Heath, and a daughter, Nancy Carolyn Stamps; a sister, Emma Lee Shipman, brothers; Hayes, Hall, Charles, and Lyle Merrill.



She was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Transylvania County School Food Services.



Surviving is a daughter, Frances Clark and Husband Garfield of Penrose; a son, James Heath and Wife Jo of Penrose; a brother Calvin Merrill and Wife Merle of Bessemer, AL; a sister in law, Juanita Merrill of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, Diann Patterson and Husband Joey of Anderson, SC; Gail Anderson of Anderson, SC; Dennis Clark and Wife Lori of Penrose; Douglas Clark and Wife Wendy of Lawendale, Herbert Heath and  Theresa of Mills River; 7 great grandchildren Josh Heath, Danielle Anderson, Haley, Jackson, Bryson, Lauren, and Logan Clark, and several nieces and nephews.



Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 7, 2012 at Little River Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Farmer officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will immediately follow in the church cemetery.



In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Little River Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 51 Little River Church Road, Penrose, NC 28766.
