Madge A. Salter

Madge Angel Salter of Brevard went home to be with the Lord on January 6, 2024. Born in March of 1936 in Franklin, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Grover and Evelyn Angel. Madge was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Marsha Lynn Salter; her beloved husband, Edwin Louie Salter; her parents Grover and Evelyn Angel; her brothers Ken Angel of Brevard and Jim Angel of Franklin; and her sister Betty Angel Jennings of Franklin.

Madge was an active member of Carr’s Hill Baptist Church and lived her life for the glory of her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs, and had a keen eye for gardening, as evidenced by the beautiful flowers and plants always growing at her home. She also made the best creamed corn and green beans that never failed to impress at the numerous family gatherings she hosted and attended. Also worth mentioning is her gorgeous, perfectly coifed hair that always garnered admiration.

She is lovingly survived by her two sons, Ricky (Susan) of Rosman and Randy (Pam) of Brevard, four grandchildren, Kimberly Stewart (Joe) of Brevard, Joel Salter (Laura) of Indian Trail, Alyse Aiken (Adam) of Tega Cay, SC, and Jay Salter (Megan Cavanah) of Auburndale, FL, and seven great-grandchildren that she loved very much. She also leaves behind her siblings Don Angel (Mary) of Little River, SC, Earl Angel (Bonnie) of Gastonia, NC, and Gene Angel (Dana) of Fort Myers, FL.

The family will receive friends at Carr’s Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, January 13 at 4:00pm with the memorial service to follow at 5:00pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carr’s Hill Baptist Church.
