Mae Wilber Rutherford
Brevard - Mae Wilber Rutherford, 94, died at The Oaks of Brevard on April 15, 2010. In her last days, Mrs. Rutherford was well cared for by the loving folks at The Oaks and by the loving folks with Four Seasons Hospice. The Rutherford family thanks these wonderful caregivers for their car of our Mom.

Mrs. Rutherford was born on October 11, 1915, in Du Bois, PA, to Ladern John Wilber and Anna Elizabeth Clark Wilber. Mrs. Rutherford was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Richard Claremont Rutherford, her brothers, Roland, Gardner and Jack Wilber, and her sister, Elizabeth Wilber Stemple.

Mrs. Rutherford is survived by her children, Ron of Brevard, NC, Rick and wife, Lynda, of Columbia, MD, and Jim and wife, Kitty, of Cary, NC, her grandchildren, Chris and Zack Rutherford and Kyle McGimsey, her brother-in-law, Jack Rutherford and wife, Carol, of Windsor, CA, her sister-in-law, Vi Wilber of Brevard, NC plus an extended family of dear nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rutherford was lucky enough to have three "hometowns." She lived in Webster Springs, WV, until 1951, when the family relocated to Brevard, NC, where her husband worked for Olin-Mathieson until his retirement. Shortly thereafter, Mr. & Mrs. Rutherford relocated to Sarasota, FL. for their golden years. They returned to Brevard, NC, in 1997.

Services will be private and held at a later date.
