Mancil Fisher

Mancil Cyrus "Tony" Fisher, 87, of Lake Toxaway, NC passed away August 27, 2013.

He was a son of the late Early Dillie Fisher and Callie Mae Thomas Fisher. He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two sisters; Dorene Fisher Chapman and Beatrice "Ducky" Mason, three brothers; John Lewis Fisher, Perry Hamilton Fisher and Burness Fisher.

Tony was a veteran of the US Army Air Corp serving his country during WWII. He work for NC Highway Department as a motor grader operator for over 35 years and tended the family farm. He was also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He loved fishing and hunting when he could.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Geraldine; one son, Dean Fisher of Asheville, NC; four daughters, Lois Jean Fisher of Lake Toxaway, NC, Sharon Lee Fisher of Lake Toxaway, NC, Karen Lynn Fisher of Rosman, NC and Faith Dawn Fisher of Cedar Mountain, NC; one sister, Altha Mae Netherton of Brevard, NC; seven grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Oak Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Tommy Morrow officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Transylvania County Honor Guard and NC National Guard. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at the church, prior to the service.
