Margaret Robertson

Margaret "Peggy" McArthur Robertson, 84, of Hendersonville, NC passed away on May 28, 2016. She was a daughter of the late William Claude and Margaret Morgan McArthur.
Peggy was born in Gaffney, SC where she graduated from Gaffney High School at the age of 17 and was crowned homecoming Queen. She also graduated from Converse College in three years. She taught school in Cherokee Co. SC before marrying Fred Robertson August 23, 1951.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Gastonia where she was also a church deacon.
She worked for the City of Gastonia for 12 years being the first women to head a division for the city. After retiring she and her husband enjoyed traveling.
We pray she is in the comfort and the loving embrace of Jesus Christ, Forever, Amen.
She is survived by her husband; Fred Robertson, three sons; Joe Robertson and John Robertson, both of Brevard, NC, and Bill Robertson (Jill) of Gastonia, NC and one grandson Sean Robertson of Gastonia, NC and one sister; Marion McGhee of Warner Robbins, GA.
A Memorial Service for Peggy Robertson will be held at Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 2:00 PM at First Presbyterian Church, 1621 East Garrison Blvd, Gastonia, NC 28054, with Rev John H. Stanley officiating.
