Margaret Ton

Margaret G. Ton, 81, of Brevard, passed away December 11, 2014. A native of Mauchline, Scotland, Mrs. Ton was the daughter of the late Robert and Agnes McMeekan. Her family moved to the United States in 1948 by way of the Queen Mary. They settled in New Orleans until they moved to Brevard in 1972.
She loved to entertain and was famous for her dinner parties. She was also involved with the Headstart Program for several years and later enjoyed doing volunteer work at S.A.F.E.
Mrs. Ton is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack V. Ton; daughter Ilene Batista of Brevard, granddaughters Lindsey Dixon and husband Chad of Mebane, NC and MaryLee Batista and Michael Hatley of Pittsboro, NC; great-grandchildren Crosby and Cecily Dixon of Mebane, NC; and Brother Stewart McMeekan and wife Carol of Hickory, NC.
A Memorial Service for Margaret Ton will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday, December16, 2014 at First United Methodist Church of Brevard with Rev. Mike Holder officiating.
