Marian Felty

Marian McMahon Felty, 84, of Penrose died on April 28, 2014. She was born in Swannanoa, NC to the late Gilbert Kenneth and Linda Arwood Morgan. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Billy Claude McMahon who died in 1989 and her husband John Benton Felty who died in 2013, four brothers; Ralph, Floyd, Dexter and George Morgan.
Marian was a member of Little River Baptist Church where she was the organist for over 60 years and also a member of The Order of the Eastern Star, Pisgah Chapter 198. She graduated Swannanoa High School in Swannanoa, NC.
A loving mother and grandmother, she also loved her church and believed in living her Christianity. Along with being the Superior Court Clerk for 25 years, she was also a cook and baker whose specialty was pecan pies which were auctioned at church for special events.
She is survived by her two sons, Terry Lee McMahon and his wife Gail of Penrose, NC and Daniel Eugene McMahon and wife Sara of Brevard, NC; her sister, Gladys Daily of Centerville, Ohio; four grandchildren: Joseph McMahon, Kendra Jones, Chris Worley and Summer McNeely; six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Marian will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 2, 2014 at Little River Baptist Church with Rev. Chris Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at 1:00 P.M., prior to the service.
