Marian Gillespie

Marian Carson Gillespie, 91, died on July 16, 2010 at the Oaks of Brevard.

A native of Spartanburg County, SC, Mrs. Gillespie was the daughter of the late Frank and Mossie Carson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bryant Eugene Gillespie, Jr., a daughter, Marcia, two brothers, Marvin and Dean Carson, and a sister Lucile Carson.

Mrs. Gillespie was a member of Edward Road Baptist Church in Greenville, SC where she worked for many years with programs for young children.

She is survived by two sister - in - laws, Virginia Carson of Greer, SC and Freida Bybee of Brevard, NC.

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Spartanburg, SC on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at 2pm. The family will receive friends at the cemetery thirty minutes prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Marcia Gillespie Scholarship Fund c/o Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648.
