Marie Barbara Cole

Brevard - Marie Barbara Cole, 91, passed quietly at her home on Monday, October 10, 2011.

Marie was born in Jersey City, NJ on Dec. 27, 1919 to the late Myles and Agnes Emerick. She worked at Lederle Labs, in New York making small pox vaccines and later worked in Clarkstown Central School District.

She enjoyed feeding the birds, the white squirrels and reading. She enjoyed her "big oak tree", growing and arranging flowers, cooking and making delicious pies. She loved knowing the activities of her six grandchildren. She was a member of the Ladies Guild of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, of 72 years, Harold T. (Bud) Cole, a son; Gerard T. Cole and wife Kathleen of Redwood, NY, a daughter; Diane B. Skidmore and husband Steve of Conroe, TX, a sister; Alice J. Quackenbush of Park Ridge, New Jersey, six grandchildren; Jason T. Cole and wife Erica of Denver, Co., Brent M. Cole of Myrtle Beach, SC, Daniel T. Cole of Isla Morada, FL, Adam E. Skidmore of Conroe, TX, Sarah M. Skidmore and Joel O. Skidmore both of San Antonio, TX.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, October 18, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with a luncheon/reception at the church immediately following the mass.
