Marie Johnson

Marie T. Johnson, 87, of Brevard, NC, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2018.

She was a daughter of the late Leo Heckler and Helen Marie Shieldmeyer Heckler. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband Todd Thayer Johnson who died in 2010.

She studied at Juilliard School of Music and University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She loved music and sang opera.

She is survived by one daughter; Mary M. Burkhardt of Brevard, NC, one son; L. Michael Burkhardt and wife Mary Jo of Omaha, Nebraska, one grandson; Kevin Burkhardt and one granddaughter; Carly Burkhardt.

No local services are planned.
